AOS Architecture
External conditions are constantly changing, thus the axis, of our movements is important. The only non-changing variable is 'change'. AOS’ aspiration is to make value for People, Environment and the Abundance of Living.
Integrity, Excellence, Innovation, Partnership, Exploration
AOS Architecture (Axis of Spin) was named in honour of the spinning stars in the universe, each one staying true to its own axis no matter where or how the star moves across the sky. This runs counter to the chaos of movement we experience on Earth. However we each set our own axis, one that’s central to our own movements, marking a home base that we can always return to. That centre, the core of our base is grounded by a set of principles - Integrity, Excellence, Innovation, Partnership and Exploration.
The world is a reflection of the mind. Our work simply mirrors who we are, what we think, what choices we make and the values we live by.
Architecture is not only the building itself. It is the building of relationships between man, nature and the environment, both physically and metaphysically.
The Space of Thinking, The Thinking of Space
To us, each design opportunity is a thinking and re-thinking opportunity. Every project is an opportunity for exploration, discovery and contribution. Each brings together a group of people who are willing to work, think and create together. Many of our clients are integral partners along the path of design and decision making.
AOS views architecture as a tool of investigation, interrogation, questioning, creation and innovation. Each project commands a unique situation, since its parameters, site, conditions and people are never the same. Architecture is a complicated integral process, it is an amalgamation of many peoples' ideas, ambitions and aspirations.
Architecture & Art
When Building meets Art, there is architecture. On its own, the objective to maximize floor area and construct a building cannot satisfy the ambitions of an Architect. Art is not a decorator of life, but the 'soul' of life, always reminding us why and what we are doing and making. We take the opportunity to participate in Art Installation projects because they always provide space for us to rethink and challenge ourselves.
Architecture & Environment
Climate change and global warming is real. It is threatening the survival of the human race. Architecture is a major contributor to this. Yet, it can also be a major game-changer. Our works and practice can be a contribution to the environment with our genuine care and actions.
Into the Future
What we do now, is creating the future. As Buckminster Fuller once stated, "The future is not something you can imagine right now”. The future belongs to the younger generations but is cultivated by us.
Architecture is created by those who are sensitive to the zeitgeist, whether it be through technology, economy or culture. Those who are able to capture the sign of the times and are able to translate them into architecture are also simultaneously building a new foundation and landscape for the future.
